OLD CUMNOCK PRIMARY SCHOOL PROMOTED TO SPL |

IN a nail-biting finish the boys from Old Cumnock overcame deadly rivals Ochil Primary 10-9 to secure promotion to the Scottish Premier League.
The minnows from Clackmananshire are now relishing next season in the top flight and their chance to take on the might of Rangers and Celtic. Motherwell boss Maurice Malpas is looking forward to Old Cumnock's promotion
Old Cumnock went in 6-5 down at half time and their dreams of Ibrox and Parkhead seemed to be slipping away. But a battling second half performance and five goals from 10 year-old centre forward Kyle McDonald made Old Cumnock's dream come true. "It was totally brilliant," said McDonald. "Have you got a PS3? I've got a PS3. Have you played MotorStorm? It's totally brilliant." In a bitter twist many of the Old Cumnock squad will be denied the chance of SPL football as they will have progressed to Old Cumnock Grammar School by the start of next season. Those that remain will be up against players one and a half times their height and twice their weight. McDonald admitted he was "quite scared" at the prospect of Old firm away games, adding: "I don't like Glasgow. It smells."
