YouTube algorithm doesn't understand hate-watching

THE algorithm behind YouTube keeps stubbornly suggesting a man might like to watch things he was only watching ironically to sneer at.

Millennial Ryan Whittaker spent yesterday evening watching videos by shite boybands like Busted and McFly only to discover YouTube actually believes he likes that kind of stuff, like an idiot.

He explained: “I genuinely couldn’t remember if McFly and Busted were the same band or not. So I thought I’d check, then I was pissing myself about how bad they were.

What I Go To School For? That is pervy as f**k. And all that about shagging the great-grandaughter’s worse. But unfortunately, because algorithms don’t understand the nuances of watching 22 00s boyband videos as a joke it thinks that’s what I’m into.

“I go on there and it’s all Blue and Westlife, when normally I’m watching sophisticated stuff like How Much Of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey Really Happened? or Resident Evil speedruns. It’s failed to see who I really am.

“I hated these bands when they were new. I don’t want to see their smug, talentless faces every time I log on. If see one Nickelback video in my suggestions I will never use the internet again.

“I don’t want to sound like my mum but I don’t understand this new technology and I refuse to learn. This is worse than when I spent a drunken evening checking out Tommy Robinson videos for a laugh. Took eight months to cleanse my recommendations.”

Maldives were disappointment after three weeks in Tonga, electrician casually mentions

A MIDDLE-CLASS couple are still reeling after an electrician working on their home off-handedly compared the two luxury holidays he has so far taken this year.

Martin and Donna Bishop were speechless after Wayne Hayes mentioned how much more beautiful the Serenity Beaches resort in the South Pacific is than the southern atolls of the Maldives.

Martin said: “What happened to Skegness Butlins? Or Torremolinos if he’s saved up for it?

“We managed a fortnight in Greece and even then we’re still paying off the credit card. Meanwhile this bastard’s weighing up white sand beaches like he’s Dua Lipa on honeymoon.

“There seems something indefinably unfair about this. And like any Briton faced with injustice they struggle to understand it makes me want to vote far-right, except a brief conversation over a mug of tea shows he’s already got there first too.”

Hayes said: “They seemed like a nice couple, so when we got talking I told them how swimming with whales and Anahulu Cave knocked spots off sailing in a dhoni around the Maldives. You’ve seen one of those Indian Ocean islands, you’ve seen them all.

“They seemed unnaturally interested, given it’s out of their budget. Kept me chatting for ages. I had to reflect that in the final bill.”
